Farfallina!

Farfallina means little butterfly in the Italian language.
My mother would sing a little Italian lullaby called Farafallina to me and my siblings when we were all tucked in and ready for Mr. Sandman.

This is the first stanza:

Farfallina bella e bianca,
vola vola mai si stanca,
vola qua, vola là,
dove mai si poserà.

A loose translation is:

Farfallina, beautiful and white
Fly, fly but never get tired.
Fly here. Fly there.
And rest whenever you want.

We still sing it at family gatherings, not to the children though, but among the adults!
