Crochet an Angel Wing Cathedral Pineapple Prayer Shawl

I have both a written pattern and the close up photos for the step-by-step. I have photo detailed each row for you in case you are not familiar with the Pineapple stitch.

The double pineapples in the center back form a pretty angel wing design that is perfect for a prayer shawl or scarf. The cathedral shaped ends enhance the appeal of this design. This wrap is functional enough to wear under a coat but pretty enough to use as an accessory around the office or waiting room when the air conditioner blows cold. The pineapple stitch is best shown off in a pastel color but don't let that stop you. It's gorgeous in black and jewel tones, also. I don't recommend a dark variegated yarn, as you'll lose some of the beauty of the stitch due the color changes. It's an economical project as it uses less than a skein of yarn.

Materials: Worsted weight yarn. I used Red Heart Super Saver in soft white, less than 7 oz.
Aluminum crochet Hook size: I/5.5mm
Size: Width =8 inches Length = 62 inches A longer length can be achieved by working additional pineapple units, but you will need more yarn.
Gauge: 6 dc = 2 inches, 7 dc rows = 4 inches
Pattern notes: Due to the nature of the pineapples, scarf is worked from the center out, half at a time, so that when the scarf drapes, the pineapples will be facing the correct position.
